Do not take both medications within 6 hours of each other. Each dose of the daytime medicine for adults provides cough relief while relieving chest congestion and thinning and loosening mucus for hours. The multi symptom nighttime liquid cough medicine puts coughs to bed with active ingredient dextromethorphan to help control the urge to cough.
